Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026
Emberwright Enterprises, LLC ("Emberwright", "we", "us") runs emberwrightenterprises.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who helps us handle it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
The short version: we collect only what we need, we never sell your information, and we never will.
What we collect
When you buy something: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give one, and what you ordered. Your card details go straight to the payment processor at checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
When you join the Foundry: your name, email address and sign-in details, your membership level, your membership payment history, and your membership benefits, including your Foundry Credit.
When you sign up for email updates: your email address, and your name if you choose to give it.
When you write to us through the contact form or by email: your name, your email address and what you write.
When you browse the site: the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, the site that sent you here, and roughly where you are (city or country, worked out from your internet address, never your street). Squarespace, which hosts the site, keeps basic visitor statistics for us. We also use Google Analytics, but only if you accept analytics cookies.
We don't ask for sensitive information such as health details or government ID numbers. Please don't send it to us.
Membership benefits and recognition
Some Foundry benefits change as you take part, such as your Foundry Credit, milestones, and recognition. To make them work, we keep simple records linked to your membership, such as yes-or-no markers (for example, whether you've reached a milestone) and simple counts. We don't publish exactly how these features work, because some are meant to be discovered and the systems behind them are our own. They never use your card details, and they never change the price you pay.
How we use it
To take, make, ship and support your orders, including returns.
To run your Foundry membership, including your member areas, your benefits and your Foundry Credit.
To answer your messages.
To send the email updates you signed up for. Every one has an unsubscribe link. We also send emails you need about an order or your membership, such as receipts and shipping notices, even if you've unsubscribed from updates.
To see which pages help people and which don't, so we can improve the site, looking at totals rather than at any one person.
To keep the site secure, prevent fraud, and meet our legal, tax and accounting duties.
We don't use your information for advertising.
Who we share it with
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run the business, and only what each one needs:
Squarespace, which hosts the website, the shop and its checkout, Foundry memberships, and the email sign-up list. We don't keep email lists of our own.
Payment processors, which handle your payment at checkout.
Google, which provides our business email (where your messages to us arrive) and Google Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies). You can block Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Shipping carriers, to deliver your order.
Professional advisers, such as a lawyer or accountant, when we need their help. They must keep it confidential.
Authorities, only when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety or rights.
If we add a new service that handles your information, such as a new store, we'll name it here before it starts. If Emberwright is ever reorganized or sold, this policy keeps protecting the information we already hold.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser keeps for a website. Some keep this site working, for example your cart and your member sign-in. Analytics cookies run only if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time: clearing this site's cookies in your browser brings the banner back so you can choose again.
We don't show ads, and we don't use advertising cookies. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first, and those cookies would only run if you accept them.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the reasons above:
Orders and payments: as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually seven years.
Foundry membership and Foundry Credit: while you're a member, and afterward for as long as we need to honor your credit, your benefits and the promises made to you, and to meet the law. Foundry Credit never expires, so we keep the records that show it.
Email updates: until you unsubscribe. If you unsubscribe and never join the Foundry, we delete your address within 24 months, keeping only a coded note so we never email you again.
Messages you send us: as long as we need them to help you and keep a record of what we agreed.
Analytics: no more than 14 months.
Even after you ask us to delete information, we may keep what the law requires, such as tax and sales records, and only for as long as required.
How we protect it
Your information is stored by the services named above, which use industry-standard security. We limit access to the accounts that need it and keep those accounts secured. No system is perfectly secure, but if your personal information is ever exposed, we'll tell you promptly and as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can:
Unsubscribe from email updates at any time, using the link in any update.
Decline analytics cookies, or change your mind later.
Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy.
Ask us to correct it or delete it.
To ask, email legal@emberwrightenterprises.com. To protect you, we'll confirm the request through the email address we have for you before sharing or deleting anything. Someone you authorize can ask for you, with your written permission. We'll answer within 45 days. We give you your own information, including the benefits and recognition you've earned; we don't share the internal rules behind our features. If we have to keep something the law requires, we'll tell you.
If we turn down your request, you can ask us to look at it again by replying to our answer. We'll never charge you more, or treat you any differently, for using these rights.
Notice for U.S. state privacy laws
Some U.S. states give residents extra privacy rights. Here's the information those laws ask for:
What we collect: identifiers (such as name, email and address), order and membership details, website activity, and approximate location, as described in "What we collect".
Where it comes from: from you, and from your browser when you use the site.
Why: the reasons in "How we use it".
Who receives it: only the service providers in "Who we share it with", for those reasons.
Selling and sharing: we don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising. We haven't done either in the past 12 months.
Sensitive information: we don't collect it.
You can use the rights in "Your choices and rights" however your state's law names them.
Visitors outside the United States
Emberwright is based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed here. If you live somewhere with stronger privacy laws, such as the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can use the rights in "Your choices and rights", and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Emberwright is for everyone, and the Foundry is for adults: Foundry members must be 18 or older. This site isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We're a young company, and this policy will grow with us. We'll have it reviewed by a lawyer, and we'll update it as we add new services. When it changes, we'll update the date at the top and keep a dated copy of every version. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we'll tell members by email before it takes effect.
