The plain-language fine print for emberwrightenterprises.com, run by Emberwright Enterprises, LLC ("Emberwright", "we", "us"). Our Privacy Policy covers your information, and our Store Policies cover orders, returns and shipping.
Who we are:
Emberwright is an early-stage startup, and for now it is a one-person company. Every division, from engineering to customer service to the legal department, is the same person, and the legal department insists we say so. When you write to us, a real person reads it, but there's no team or department behind the curtain, and we don't promise reply times we can't keep.
Emberwright is for everyone. The Foundry is for adults.
Our website, our public store, and our YouTube, X, and Instagram accounts are family-friendly and open to everyone. The Foundry is also family-friendly. To join the Foundry as a member, you must be 18 (or the age of majority where you live) or older, and you will be asked to confirm that when you sign up.
Why we do this:
The age rule is about responsibility, not content. Memberships come with agreements, store credit, and an AI chat helper with a personality, and we can only take those on with adults. We also can't accept the liability that comes with members under 18.
What this means for you:
If you are under 18, you are welcome to visit our website, look through what we make, and follow us on our public channels.
If you are 18 or older, you can join the Foundry, confirm your age at signup, and participate in the community.
Mentorship:
We care about teaching and passing on the craft. For now, mentorship is part of the Foundry, which is adults only. It is planned for the Sphere's Ascend suite. If anyone offers to mentor a young person in Emberwright's name, they are not acting for us.
Looking ahead:
We plan to explore a youth path when the public Sphere launches, with a parent or guardian involved from the start. This is a plan, not a promise. We have no details or dates to share yet.
Yes, the chat helper is an AI.
Cinder (Synthetic Intelligence for Navigation, Diplomacy, Engagement & Relations), the chat helper on our website, is an AI program, not a person. We apologize if this wasn’t already EXCEEDINGLY OBVIOUS. It has a name and a personality, but it is software. It can make mistakes. If anything it says differs from what's written on our website, the website is right. Cinder can't change orders, memberships or your information; for anything that matters, email us and a person will answer. How chats are handled is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Foundry Credit:
Foundry Credit is a loyalty discount for Foundry members, used toward purchases. It is not money we owe you, a deposit, a security or an investment, and it never expires. How it works is explained on the Foundry pages and in the member terms.
No ownership or investment:
Joining the Foundry, buying from us or backing one of our campaigns doesn't make you an owner or an investor in Emberwright, and we don't offer company equity.
Programs under legal review:
Some programs we describe, including the Founders Rebate, the Kickstarter thank-you bonus and referral rewards, are proposed and still being reviewed by our lawyer. Their names, amounts and terms may change before they start, and nothing about them is final until the final terms are posted. We will publish the final terms before our Kickstarter campaign launches.
Milestone contests:
Each Foundry milestone brings a skill-based contest, such as design, essay or video. Winners are chosen on skill, not chance. Official rules, including who can enter, how entries are judged and what can be won, are posted before each contest opens. We don't run random drawings, raffles or sweepstakes no matter how much I (we) want to, because… laws.
Plans and goals:
Much of this site talks about what we're building and hope to do: TEMPEST, Aetherwood, the Sphere, milestones and future programs. These are goals and plans, not promises or guarantees. Timelines, features, prices and plans can change as we learn, and some may not happen.
TEMPEST is patent pending. Aetherwood is patent pending.
Products, prices and results:
Our pieces are made by hand from natural materials, so grain, color and finish vary from piece to piece and from the photos. Prices can change, and any price shown is the price at the time you order. Descriptions of what materials or processes can do are based on our own work and testing; your results may vary. We very badly want to know about your results.
